The opening stage of the Vuelta a Espana will be a team time-trial in Utrecht, with 23.3 kilometers that will set the first leader of the race, and simultaneously see the first fight between the GC riders on what will be a tricky and interesting day.
It will be a late-afternoon stage, with the first riders descending off the start ramp at 18:30 CET which will be the Spanish Burgos-BH team. From there on each team will depart within four minutes, with the last team being defending champion's lineup Jumbo-Visma who will start at 19:58 CET.
