The Team Time Trial Mixed Relay at the World Championships in Montréal 2026 will be contested on Tuesday, 22.09.2026, over a total distance of 40.6 kilometres, starting on Avenue du Parc and finishing in Parc Jeanne-Mance. The race will get underway at 08:30 local time in Montréal, which is 14:30 CET, with 15 national teams on the start list.
Each team will line up six riders, three men and three women. The three men tackle the first half of the course before the three women complete the second half. The final time for each team will decide the classification and the fight for the rainbow jersey.
Spain will start seventh, with a scheduled time of 15:37 CET. The men’s trio comprises Héctor Álvarez, Iván Romeo, and Enaut Urcaregui, while Sandra Alonso, Mireia Benito, and Paula Blasi will represent Spain in the women’s leg.
Álvarez and Romeo have already featured in the individual time trials at these Worlds, while Benito is selected after a top-level season. Spain will follow Norway and precede Germany in the start order.
The big teams load the second half
The race will enter its decisive phase with several headline nations. Germany starts at 16:15 CET, followed by Italy at 16:18, with Filippo Ganna among the three men for the Azzurri.
After that it will be Switzerland at 16:21 CET with Stefan Bissegger, Stefan Küng, and Mauro Schmid. France rolls three minutes later, at 16:24, with Bruno Armirail, Rémi Cavagna, and Jordan Labrosse.
The final team on the road will be Australia at 16:27 CET. The Australian men’s trio features Conor Leahy and Michael Matthews, with Cameron Rogers completing the line-up. Georgia Baker, Mackenzie Coupland, and Felicity Wilson-Haffenden form the women’s squad.
The early starters
Proceedings begin at 14:30 CET with the World Cycling Center, competing as WCC. Their three men are Amir Ansari, Mario Sanchez, and Ahmad Badreddin Wais, while Nesrine Houili, Jazilla Mwamkazi, and Natalie Revelo make up the women’s trio.
Japan starts three minutes later, followed by Estonia and Mexico. China is fifth off at 14:42 CET, while Mauritius, sixth on the list, must wait until 15:25 CET due to the extended break between the two waves. From there, the gaps revert to three minutes, with Poland, Norway, Canada, and Spain filling the mid-portion of the start list.
