The 2026 Tour de France is here. The world’s premier race begins with a distinctive team time trial in Barcelona as the Grand Départ. From the gun, Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard, Remco Evenepoel, Movistar Team and company will battle for the yellow jersey in the general classification. Below, start times and start order.
This team time trial has been the talk for months, with everyone chasing the win to seize early control of the GC. The riders will tackle a 19.6 km route through Barcelona in team blocks, finishing with 800 metres at 7% average gradient. For teams such as UAE Team Emirates - XRG, Team Visma | Lease a Bike and Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe, it will be a pivotal day.
The first team down the ramp will be Caja Rural - Seguros RGA, starting at 17:05 (CET). The squad, riding the first Tour de France in its history, brings a line-up built for breakaways, sprints with Fernando Gaviria and perhaps GC ambitions with Sebastian Berwick and Abel Balderstone. Expectations are modest for this Barcelona TTT, but anything can happen.

As for the favourites, Jonas Vingegaard’s Visma rolls at 18:50, Tadej Pogacar’s UAE at 18:55, Remco Evenepoel’s Red Bull at 18:45, Paul Seixas’s Decathlon at 18:30 and NetCompany INEOS at 18:15.

- The man has always given a charming interview, and he continues here. He doesn’t disrespect anyone, praises every place he goes and every win, refuses to talk badly of past teams, and keeps a positive tone toward everyone. Plus he sees del Toro as his successor (did he ever say the same about Ayuso, Almeida, Yates? Don’t think so). He should've either seen the writing on the wall, or had someone in his inner circle with the guts to tell him - but then again, he was on a massive contract so who would turn down millions?
