On Wednesday, INEOS Grenadiers leader Geraint Thomas announced his plans for the 2024 season, revealing his intention to target both the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France. There's just one problem with the Thomas plan however, a certain Slovenian who's also targeting a Giro d'Italia/Tour de France double this year.
Replying to the Welshman's Instagram story announcement of his plans, two-time Tour de France winner, Tadej Pogacar left Thomas an ominous warning... "See you soon."
Obviously, the pair are good friends so the message must be taken somewhat tongue-in-cheek but there's no doubting the fact that Pogacar's presence does make things more difficult for Thomas.
"Forgot about this guy," Thomas comments in his typically dry fashion. "Mate honestly, I think you need to take it easy. You’re still young. One more year will make the world of difference. Go Giro/Tour in 2025."
