Sagan ready for national championships and Tour de France despite Covid infection

TotalEnergies have shared on social media a message saying "with a lot of confidence for the national championships and Tour de France" on social media, with the name of the four riders who've taken the wins for the French team in the last few weeks. Peter Sagan included, as the team hint at his return to competition this weekend for the Slovakian national championships.

Sagan abandoned the Tour de Suisse before the start of stage eight after a positive Covid-19 test. He had recently taken his first win with the French team as he survived the climbs of the third stage to outsprint the competition in Grenchen. Although a small sign, it was above all a boost of confidence for the Slovakian. The 32-year old has taken seven titles in his home race - with brother Juraj taking another three - and if he is at the start he will with no doubt be the main favourite to win the event.
