Team DSM rider Romain Bardet has managed to recover the time lost in the last stage of the Tour de France. He finished in 6th position, 2 minutes and 38 seconds behind stage winner Tadej Pogacar.
He was part of the breakaway along with seventeen other riders. He was caught by the peloton soon as the race went into the final kilometers. He eventually finished sixth in the stage.“I’m really happy with the day. I think as a team, we can be proud of the way we rode,” said Bardet.
“ We wanted to bounce back from yesterday, and we went out as we planned in the meeting – a few of us in the front and then for me to go for it. We can have no regrets, we left everything out on the road. It’s a pretty good day and good for the morale,” concluded Bardet.
The last stage was not so great for him as he lost time and slipped in the rankings, but today, he managed to recover his time and jump to 6th position in GC, 9 minutes and 21 seconds behind overall leader Jonas Vingegaard.
