Isaac del Toro has secured overall victory at the 2026 UAE Tour as Jonathan Milan claimed the final stage in a high-speed sprint at Abu Dhabi Breakwater.
The general classification was never seriously threatened on the flat closing day, but the pace remained relentless from start to finish. The opening hour was covered at more than 54 km/h as Remco Evenepoel animated the early kilometres with three aggressive attacks, attempting to influence a week that had begun with time trial dominance before unravelling in the mountains. None of his moves gained lasting separation.
A five-rider breakaway featuring Callum Thornley, Daan Hoole, Ezra Caudell, Lorenzo Milesi and Aivaras Mikutis eventually formed and built a modest advantage. Caudell was distanced with cramp inside the final 30 kilometres, leaving four riders to press on as the peloton gradually increased the pressure behind.
With 22 kilometres remaining, the gap stood at 45 seconds, briefly raising the possibility of a surprise. Coordinated work from Lidl-Trek, UAE Team Emirates - XRG and later Uno-X steadily reduced the margin. A headwind in the closing kilometres further weakened the escape.

Break ends with 2km to go

The break was finally caught inside the final two kilometres as sprint trains surged into position on the wide approach roads. Milan launched his sprint with 300 metres remaining and proved strongest, adding another victory to his tally in this year’s race.
Behind the sprint battle, Del Toro remained safely embedded in the bunch to confirm the biggest stage race success of his young career. Carrying a 20-second advantage into the final day, he encountered no crosswinds or late incidents to disturb his position.
It was not a breakthrough week for the 22-year-old, but another confirmation of his standing among the peloton’s elite. After taking control on Jebel Hafeet, Del Toro and UAE Team Emirates - XRG managed the race calmly through the closing kilometres, sealing overall victory without drama.
The final stage belonged to Milan. The overall title belonged to Del Toro.
