Renewi Tour 2026 Classifications Update after Stage 5 - Jasper Philipsen wins GC over Berckmoes and Kooij

The 2026 Renewi Tour takes place from the 19th to 23rd of August, taking the riders through a five-day course packed with stages for the sprinters and classics specialists. Below you will find the overall and points classifications, updated on the daily after all stages.

The General Classification remains the central battle of the race, but the wider standings will develop their own stories across a compact and demanding route. With only five stages and four major jersey competitions to settle, there is little room to recover from lost time or missed opportunities. Bonus seconds, sprint points, mountain points, breakaway moves and decisive race incidents can all produce significant changes from one day to the next.
General Classification Standings after Stage 5
Jasper Philipsen has won the overall classification of the Renewi Tour. The Belgian has done this after having survived the queen stage to Geraardsbergen in the peloton that followed Jenno Berckmoes, and via the bonifications that he conquered over the final two days of the race.
Lacking the top classics riders and a time trial to split things up, this year's GC was largely decided by the bonifications captured by most riders and them surviving the splits in Geraardsbergen. Berckmoes, winner there, sealed a quality second place on GC; whilst it was Olav Kooih himself who rode to third.
Mike Teunissen climbed to fourth on the final stage, overtaking Quinten Hermans who completed the Top5. On the final stage, Alec Segaert and Soren Waerenskjold - who crashed the day before fell out of the Top10, giving space for new riders to enter it.
The Top10 was concluded by Matteo Trentin, Robert Donaldson, Filippo Fiorelli, Marijn van den Berg and Tim van Dijke. Philipsen also won the points classification whilst Pietro Mattio won the youth classification.

Originally from the Porto metropolitan area in Portugal, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography. His path into cycling journalism was shaped not through formal media training, but through independent reporting, community engagement, and sustained on-the-ground involvement in the sport.
Over the course of his career, he has conducted approximately 100 interviews across road cycling and cyclocross, ranging from one-to-one conversations and online formats to press conferences and on-site pre- and post-race coverage. His interviews include leading riders, team managers, and prominent figures within cycling media: Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard, Mathieu van der Poel, Primoz Roglic, Wout van Aert, Joao Almeida and Tom Pidcock; managers like Patrick Lefevere and Joxean Matxin; and YouTube personality Bryan Kennedy (BKXC)...
Within 18 months of launch, he helped grow CyclingUpToDate’s English-language platform into one of the most-read cycling news websites, built entirely from the ground up. As both a professional journalist and lifelong cycling enthusiast, his focus remains on delivering accurate, timely, and well-contextualized coverage.

- they are # 3. Visma has won more races than Red Bull. They have won a GT, but Red Bull hasn’t. They have won a monument, but Red Bull hasn’t. They have won 2 one week WorldTour races, Red Bull has won zero. Visma has 14 winners, Red Bull 11. Red Bull is almost totally reliant on Remco for its points. They bought won rider who won prolifically early in the season, they are not a better team. I never said Visma was at peak form. I said they would be the envy of the peloton less UAE. I think that is true. And these results are not indicative of a team collapsing. As for staff leaving, Red Bull lost Ralf Aldag and Dan Lorang. Staff comes and goes. using your measurement for staff leaving is irrelevant. If you build a good company, your leaders get poached.
