Remco Evenepoel is in fine form
Remco Evenepoel is making the most of a few different days before refocusing on his next targets on the bike. The Belgian rider travelled to Austria with his girlfriend, Oumi Rayane, where they enjoyed a very special experience with a visit to Red Bull’s Hangar 7 and a helicopter flight around Salzburg.
The trip comes after an especially intense few weeks for Evenepoel. The Belgian completed an outstanding Tour de France, finishing second overall behind Tadej Pogacar. It was his best final placing to date at the French Grand Tour and confirmed his ability to fight for the top spots in a three-week race.
Evenepoel then extended his fine form after the Tour with another victory at the Clásica de San Sebastián. The win was especially significant, as it made him the most successful rider in the Basque race’s history with four titles.
After this demanding block of racing, Evenepoel and Oumi Rayane travelled to Salzburg. There they visited Hangar 7, one of Red Bull’s best-known venues, located next to the airport of the Austrian city.
Oumi herself described the visit on her social media as a "24-hour pit stop," while Evenepoel shared the trip with the message: "A quick visit to the Red Bull hangar."
Hangar 7 is known for housing the Flying Bulls’ collection of planes and helicopters, along with various exhibitions and a collection of Formula 1 single-seaters. The building has become one of the most distinctive sites linked to the Austrian brand. For Evenepoel, used to spending much of the year at camps, races, and training, the visit offered a different way to enjoy a few days in Austria.

A helicopter flight over the Alps

The experience was even more special with a helicopter flight. Evenepoel and Oumi flew over Salzburg and its surroundings, with the Alps as a backdrop and views of some of the area’s most recognisable landmarks.
Among the sites they saw from the air was the Red Bull Ring, the Austrian circuit on the Formula 1 calendar that is closely linked to Red Bull.
The track is a regular venue in the championship and has hosted several of Max Verstappen’s victories. The Dutch Red Bull Racing driver has prevailed there on multiple occasions during his career.

Evenepoel prepares his next objectives

This getaway comes at an important moment for Evenepoel. The Belgian tackles the second half of the season after delivering a superb Tour de France and then adding another win in San Sebastián.
His focus now shifts to the World and European Championships, two of the major fixtures on the calendar in the coming months. Before returning to training and racing routines, Evenepoel was able to enjoy a different kind of experience in Austria with Oumi.
A brief pause after a summer of maximum demands, before pinning on a number again to chase new objectives.
