Belgium had a tremendous year when it came to cycling and the awards for the nation's riders were attributed yesterday. Both
Remco Evenepoel and
Lotte Kopecky headlined the ceremony and received the main awards.
Evenepoel's comes as little surprise. Although the Soudal - Quick-Step rider didn't manage to race for the GC at the Grand Tours, he still won stages and lead both Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a Espana temporarily; alongside wins at the time-trial World Championships, Liège-Bastogne-Liège and Clásica San Sebastián.
