Primoz Roglic crashed out of Itzulia Basque Country and has seince been healing a lot of road rash and bruises. In an Instagram post, a half-naked Roglic shows the extent of his injuries.
"Memories of stage 3 and 4 of Itzulia... feeling a bit better! Wishing everyone a speedy recovery. See you on the road!" he wrote. This is his first statement since abandoning the Basque race, where he crashed alongside Jonas Vingegaard, Remco Evenepoel, Jay Vine and several others in a high-speed descent where there were bumps on the road.
The accident marked the race, and it was the second in two days for the BORA - hansgrohe rider who was leading the race at the time. After a brilliant display in the opening time-trial, the race went off the rails for the Slovenian who ultimately abandoned whilst in yellow.
However unlike his two major rivals in the race, he did not sustain fractures, which keep the possibility of him still racing this spring alive. Initially, he had anticipated to race in the Ardennes classics and with over a week until Flèche Wallone and almost to weeks to Liège-Bastogne-Liège, he could still well take part in both.
