On the 6th of April, the women's peloton faces one of the most pivotal races in the calendar: the Tour of Flanders. With the road set for this prestigious event, the world's best classics specialists will be vying to secure victory. We preview the race ahead.
168 kilometers on the menu starting and finishing in Oudenaarde, the women's race in Flanders features a finale just as tough as the men's event. The race is categorized by it's 12 cobbled sectors and several other paved ascents.
They are the Flandrien bergs, which every year provide for a lot of emotion and spectacle. The race concludes with the famous Oude Kwaremont-Paterberg duo which leads to the flat run-in to Oudenaarde where a great champion will be crowned. Aside from that, the riders will have to tackle the brutal and iconic ascents of the Koppenberg, Taaienberg and Kruisberg already in the decisive phase of the race.

- Pidcock was riding at a hard enough pace until the sector where Pogacar made up something like 20 seconds in something like... 20 seconds. Pidcock was quite a bit ahead, and suddenly he wasn't. At that point, clearly he would get caught, so might as well get caught sooner and work together. That's just good cycling.
