Stage 4 of the AlUla Tour will be taking place on the 30th of January, with an estimated start and finish time at 09:55 and 14:05CET. The fourth day of racing will once again be fit for the sprinters and it will be their last opportunity, with Jonathan Milan as the clear favourite to take the victory.
The AlUla Tour has rapidly grown into one of the Middle East’s most prestigious early-season professional cycling stage races, being held right before the Tour of Oman and UAE Tour to form a series of races in the region. The race was first held in 1999 but was short-lived. In 2002 it had its last edition in years, and returned finally in 2020 with a different image and status.
Stage 4 of the race sees a return to the pure sprint stages. This is the only one that does not have a circuit finish, however there won't be any climbing throughout the day to disrupt the chances of the fast finishers into Shalal Sijlyat Rocks.
With the overall classification now wide open, there will be even more tension in the fight for positioning if we do find crosswinds. Yannis Voisard begins the day now in the lead, whilst Tudor is going to be only one of several teams who should put all their eggs in the GC basket.
Jonathan Milan in the meantime is the main favourite to win the stage, not only due to his sprinting power, but as has been confirmed on stage 2, due to having the uncontested best leadout in the race.
