Tadej Pogacar continues to dominate at the 2024 Volta a Catalunya. Behind the runaway leader however, the battle for the podium is tight. One of those well in the mix is Sepp Kuss.

Climbing to a fifth-placed finish on the stage 3 summit finish, the Team Visma | Lease a Bike leader has moved up to 7th overall in the general classification, just 39 seconds of Aleksandr Vlasov and the podium. Notably though, Kuss is now 3:34 down on Pogacar.

Team Visma | Lease a Bike rode hard all day and post-stage, sports director, Frans Maassen was reasonably upbeat about how things stand. "Today was a pretty good day for the team," he says. "Pogacar was by far the best, but behind him a lot of guys are evenly matched."

Therefore, Maassen, Team Visma | Lease a Bike and Kuss are confident in their chances going forward in the race. "That offers possibilities for the coming days. After yesterday's slightly lesser day we can now look up again."
