Pidcock emerges victorious in return to MTB at Albstadt XCO

INEOS Grenadiers' Tom Pidcock, Olympic champion in the XCO discipline has completed his first race of the season in Albstadt, and took no time to return to his winning ways.

In the six lap race of the German circuit, Pidcock attacked halfway through the race to create a gap over his rivals, and take a decisive win in this small stint between the classics campaign and the Tour de France which he is set to target later in the summer.

In the end, the Briton arrived at the finish holding off Nino Schurter and Vlad Dascalu who filled the remaining spots in the podium. The Swiss (538 points) extended his lead in the World Cup, which is now topping Maxime Marotte (361 points).
