Philippe Gilbert challenges Pogacar, Sagan, Thomas to run through mountainous Monaco: "It may look easy, but get ready for the stairs"

Philippe Gilbert has hung up the wheels but not the shoes. He's ran a 16-kilometer distance in Monaco recently and launched a challenge towards other stars who live in the area. Among those, some of his friends from the cycling world.

"I did a lap around Monaco and I challenge Max Verstappen, Thierry Neuville, Charles Leclerc, Tadej Pogacar, Novak Djokovic, Valtteri Bottas, David Goffin, Stephane Ortelli, Peter Sagan and Geraint Thomas to use it. It may look easy, but get ready for the stairs," he wrote. The Belgian, a former World Champion and generational talent in the sport, has gathered many high-reputation friendships and looks to convince them to take on the difficult challenge in the small micro-state of Monaco.
