Nairo Quintana, the experienced climber for Movistar Team, is gearing up for the 2025 season with ambitious plans to tackle the Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a España. At 34 years old, the Colombian veteran, who boasts three Tour de France stage victories as well as overall wins at the 2014 Giro and the 2016 Vuelta, is eager to return to the forefront of Grand Tour racing.

For Quintana, the Giro d’Italia represents a prime opportunity to rediscover his winning form. While he will play a supportive role to Enric Mas in the Vuelta, the Corsa Rosa offers him the chance to race with greater freedom. The Colombian hasn’t claimed a victory in nearly three years, but he’s optimistic about his prospects in Italy.

“I say this with all due respect to the other races, but I think the Giro will be the race that will provide the most spectacle among the three GTs,” Quintana told Marca. “There will be surprises every day, with attacks and strategic work. We will have to be attentive and try to hunt for success on all occasions. Our goal is always to win.”

While the Giro is a chance for personal glory, the Vuelta remains a cornerstone of Movistar’s objectives. Quintana acknowledged the team’s commitment to the Spanish Grand Tour, saying, “The Vuelta for us is a great responsibility and a great challenge. For Movistar, it will always be a race where we show up to win.”
