Oscar Rodriguez has raced in the Tour of Guangxi his last race with Movistar Team and has given an interview to Marca newspaper in which he talked about his time with the team and the difficult year 2023 that he has gone through due to his hard fall in the Giro d'Italai. Recall that he will ride next year in INEOS Grenadiers;
SEASON 2023.
"It's been a bit of a strange season. I started racing in Arabia and UAE, two races in the desert. Then I had a break where I went to altitude to get to the Giro. In Italy I had that crash and then there was nothing left but to recover well to finish!"
ACCIDENT IN THE TURNING.
"The fall was a misfortune and I lived the recovery with my loved ones. From minute zero they were very supportive. Thanks to them I'm here, I really wanted to get on my bike".
CURRENT GENERATION OF CYCLISTS.
"It's flying now, actually. I think it is. It's flying! I don't know if it's because of the food, the quality of the cyclists, the material... I think it's a bit of everything. I have the feeling that we are more motorcycles than bicycles."
THE STRONGEST?.
"Remco Evenepoel, for example. He's young and has inordinate ambition - I'd go with him!".
PASS BY MOVISTAR TEAM WITHOUT WINS.
"Yes, I didn't get any. I was at the gates because getting second is not worth it. That's a thorn in my side. The best thing: The team rallies, being with my colleagues. There I have coincided with many of the Lizarte. The Spanish atmosphere is very good. The worst, nothing. Not even the crashes, because they went well. The recovery has been good, although I haven't been medically discharged. I've been released from work, but not medically. I hope to close this chapter well.
