Netcompany INEOS 2027 will undoubtedly be one of the benchmark teams for Spanish cycling. The signings of Markel Beloki and Benjamín Noval are exciting, while Carlos Rodríguez’s continued presence gives the team a strong Spanish core. Now that core looks set to grow stronger with Óscar Rodríguez’s renewal.
According to Marca, the versatile domestique has reached an agreement to stay with the British team for another year. His three-year contract was due to expire this season, but he looks set to continue for at least one more year. It is a challenging transfer market for a team that has lost many riders.
Óscar Rodríguez’s career has been defined by his ability to excel in the mountains, claim prestigious victories and contend for top places in stage races. One of the defining moments of the Navarrese rider’s career came in 2018, when he rode for Euskadi-Murias and won a memorable stage at the Vuelta a España.
That victory marked a step forward and established him as one of the Spanish riders to watch in the mountain stages.
Astana, Movistar, INEOS...
He continued to progress in 2019, again showing his ability in stage races. Rodríguez finished second overall at the Vuelta a Burgos and also took second place on stage three. At that year’s Vuelta a España, he came close to a top finish on stage 15, placing fourth.
In 2021, riding for Astana-Premier Tech, he delivered another strong performance by finishing second at the Mont Ventoux Dénivelé Challenge, a particularly demanding race for climbers. That same year, he placed third overall at La Route d'Occitanie and also took third on a stage.

Domestique duties at INEOS
The 2022 season brought further notable results with Movistar Team. He finished second overall at the Tour de Hongrie and placed third on one of the Hungarian race’s stages. He also took second place on a stage of the Tour de Suisse, confirming his competitiveness across different types of mountain terrain.
In 2023, Rodríguez continued to achieve strong results with the Spanish team, including second place on stage three of the Tour du Limousin-Périgord-Nouvelle Aquitaine. A year later, he finished sixth overall at the Tour of Norway. At INEOS, he has focused more on domestique duties than on pursuing personal results.

The only Grand Tour he has taken part of was the 2024 Vuelta a España, as the 31-year old took a more supporting role for the team's riders throughout the entire season.
A fractured hip suffered during a training crash this past January saw Rodríguez lose months of his season, only being able to kick it off in early May.

- dude, Lemond never even was in the same race as Armstrong. He throws all these aspersions on other American riders who might usurp his throne as the greatest ever American racer. He doesn't say a single thing about (foreign) dopers who he actually raced against. Biggest douchebag move ever. I used to revere that guy, now I despise him. His actions are so weird.fatsupermodel02-11-2026
- This is just stupid, You do what you are good at not what you are weak at. He has no results to speak of when he participated. Even Froome, Conatdor had very little. With Pogi there he wont win none of the classics. he is already 30+ with a few years left at the top. It takes years to get good at classics. Is that really worth the effort???abstractengineer02-11-2026
