Oier Lazkano is one of Spain's great assets to try to win a medal this Saturday, August 3, in the road race of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The Movistar Team all-rounder claims to be in very good physical condition after the sensations he had in the time trial, despite finishing deep in the field in 26th place.
"It was going well, in the time trial I had the right sensations, but due to mechanical problems I couldn't do well, but the legs were there, so I'm happy," he begins in a communique presented by Spanish federation.
He is clear that it will be a very difficult race to control and that, as it is a very long race, the finish will be very hard:
"A very crazy race where there are very few riders, everything is very open, I don't think a big group will arrive there, but after 240 kilometers any bridge, the train tracks is enough to break everything apart."
