August the 1st is the day in which teams can finally reveal their transfers after months of speculation. The Uno-X Pro Cycling Team have clearly been busy, announcing Magnus Cort Nielsen earlier in the day and now, Andreas Leknessund.
The 24-year-old Dane previously rode for Uno-X's developmental team until moving to his current employer, Team DSM-Firmenich, in 2020. Leknessund has impressed in recent years, including at the 2023 Giro d'Italia where he wore the Maglia Rosa for a number of days before finishing 8th overall by the time the race reached Rome.
The arrival of Leknessund on a three-year deal alongside the earlier arrival of Magnus Cort, also on a three-year deal continues the progression of the Uno-X Pro Cycling Team. After making a Tour de France debut last month, signings such as these will be key in ensuring more Grand Tour appearances in the coming years.
Leknessund will remain at Team DSM-Firmenich for the remainder of the season, before joining Uno-X at the end of the year, ready for the 2024 campaign.
