OFFICIAL: Fillippo Ganna leads INEOS at Milano-Sanremo with Geraint Thomas in the lineup

INEOS Grenadiers have very good reason to be motivated towards Milano-Sanremo and the lineup they have presented can certainly be a winning team. Filippo Ganna will lead the lineup after his formidable Tirreno-Adriatico, and he has got a strong support crew around him.
Ganna recently finished second at Tirreno-Adriatico, taking an incredible victory in the initial time-trial, defended himself with quite a lot of confidence in all hilly stages and his climbing performance on the queen stage was so strong that he never even dropped out of the podium. He was second in this very race back in 2023 and these climbs will fit the powerhouse like a glove, he can truly take a career-changing victory here to mark himself as one of the very best classics riders in the world.
Michal Kwiatkowski had to forfeit the race due to an injury but filling in his shoes are some very big figures. The experienced Geraint Thomas and Ben Swift will likely be the riders who will take hold of the younger riders during the first 250 kilometers of the race, but once the race enters the hills everyone will have to be at the top of their game to really hang on with the pace that is expected.
They will be joined by Tobias Foss who is just out of a formidable Paris-Nice where he ended in the Top10 but simultaneously played a very important support role for Thymen Arensman and was a key part of Magnus Sheffield's victory on the final day. Axel Laurance, Ben Turner and Connor Swift, all riders who have shown good form early in the year in some way or another have shown good form. The race will take place this Saturday, March 22.

- Liege or Amstel are a little different. Only he knows what really works for him. I'm a bit disappointed that he is not going to focus on any other races potentially until the Dauphine. If you don't have race days in the legs no matter how good you are it generally gives a negative result. I had argued that he knew what works for him the other day but he seems to have maybe a mental block or is still a bit gun shy from last year's crash, which to be honest, was pretty bad. He might be in his last season or two. I hope not because he can still do quite a bit of winning if he gets his head right.awp26-03-2025

- I think, sometimes, women's races are more interesting because of their unpredictability due to their silly mistakes. The most recent ones seem to always involve Demi Vollering against SD Worx. 11% is way too discriminative. Is there no guardrail in EU laws that prevent this sort of discrimination?
