Paul Seixas is undeniably a major discussion topic at the moment as a rider who has shown glimpses of brilliance already in his first professional season, and doubled down at the start of 2026 with a runner-up result at Strade Bianche as the only rider capable of countering - even if only briefly - Tadej Pogacar. And if you thought that Seixas was one-of-a-kind talent, you'll be intrigued to know that Paul's younger brother Nino Seixas has just entered the junior category.
The 17-year-old has similar background to his older brother, making a name for himself in the Cadet category as a skilled cyclocrosser and a promising climber who was among the best cyclists of the under-17 version of Tour de l'Ain, a stage race which featured the Col du Grand Colombier last year.
Maybe for this reason, or perhaps thanks to his name... in any case Nino found himself invited for the UAE talent identification training camp past winter, something that passed without much attention at the time. On Instagram, Nino described it as a "fantastic and very instructive" week, thanking in particular UAE's main scout Joxean 'Matxin' Fernández.
However as rumours of UAE Team Emirates - XRG's attempts to recruit Paul Seixas at the end of his contract with Decathlon CMA CGM, which runs through 2027, gain on strength, we can see the thin line connecting both events. But that'd be getting ahead of ourselves. After all, Nino is yet to truly kick off his junior career and his talents could take him anywhere over the next two seasons, just as is the case for his older brother.
