Portuguese climber and puncheur Ruben Guerreiro is likely on his way out of EF Education-EasyPost as it was reported he wanted more leadership within the American team, and it would seem as if there are two prime contenders already to sign him.
Having switched agent, Guerreiro is now represented by Giuseppe Acquadro, famous agent who has large connections with INEOS Grenadiers aswell as several South American riders. Having shown interest in previous years, INEOS is said to be a prime contender to sign the Portuguese as they have this year announced a swarm of moves which look to restructure the team's future and leadership. BORA - hansgrohe is also said to be interested in the 28-year old's services, according to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.
Guerreiro has joined the World Tour in 2017 with the Trek - Segafredo team and has raced with the former Katusha team, and EF Education-EasyPost since 2020 where he currently rides. He's stood out as a strong climber, having won the KOM classification and the 2020 Giro d'Italia, aswell as taking a stage win there, and also winning the Mont Ventoux Dénivelé Classic this year.
He's finished within the Top10 of Fléche Wallone and the Critérium du Dauphiné this year showing his versatility, and has finished third in the recent Deutschland Tour only behind Adam Yates and Pello Bilbao.
