The Jumbo-Visma rider set off for a solo victory, but right behind others also didn't want to take it to a sprint. Powless and Oier Lazkano attacked from the chasing group in the closing kilometers and worked together to finished second and third on the day. “I am a dark horse there“, Powless says of Flanders where he should be a leader.. “Because the field of participants is stronger there. Hopefully I will have the same legs and I can compete in the final. I don't know if I will be the strongest, but I hope to play a role on Sunday."
