Natnael Tesfatsion and Matthias Vacek targets of Trek - Segafredo

Trek - Segafredo have been the target of a lot of media attention throughout the past week as they continue to lead the Giro d'Italia, however work is being done behind the scenes to ensure the team's supply of talented riders. Both Mattias Vacek and Natnael Tesfatsion have been linked to the team, in possible moves to the World Tour.
19-year old Mattias Vacek was the winner of the sixth stage of the UAE Tour, where Gazprom-Rusvelo at the time sent several riders in a breakaway that managed to elude the peloton. With the team stripped of it's UCI license and having lost it's main sponsor, it's currently inactive. Vacek has been riding in his home country of Czech Republic, and has been linked multiple times to Trek - Segafredo, however this weekend there was an update on the situation.
The youngster has been seen racing with a Trek Madone in team colours this past weekend, and according to Cycling.photography he has signed a three-year deal with the American team already, with an stagiaire stint starting from August onwards.
As for Natnael Tesfatsion, he has also been linked to the American team by Gazzetta dello Sport who have reported that the Eritrean puncheur is in contacts. The Tour du Rwanda winner has had a very consistent start to the season, which has seen him battle for top results at the ongoing Giro d'Italia aswell.

I personally prefer to defend this model as opposed to the other two in which there are very few winners, and currently given a choice, if we can’t defend ourselves, I’d rather team up with the Chinese to counter both the others, though the Chinese won’t drop the Russians as long as the US doesn’t treat them as equals. If you consider there’s any future for this planet if everyone decides only to look after themselves or their kind, you haven’t given things much thought either. - I don’t know what the pay cut explains except that his recent results just weren’t that impressive for a team like Visma, he might have understood he’d possibly gain more from them long-term than the salary cut cost him. His previous salary was probably partly based on a receding Tour win with the team that « offered the structure » before they got access to big money. Mathias Vacek to Trek - Segafredo. According to our information, the 19-year-old Czech cyclist Mathias Vacek has signed a three-year contract with the Trek-Segafredo team. He will race for the American team as a stagiaire from August and as a full member from next year.
