Nairo Quintana confirms participation in World Championships, will represent Colombian national team - "We will give everything for Colombia, It will be a good performance"

Colombian rider Nairo Quintana could not compete in Vuelta a Espana after he tested positive for tramadol. Now the rider has announced his participation in the Road World Championships, which is scheduled to be held on 25 September.

"We have been preparing these days, doing our best to arrive very well. It's a very good group, a good selection," said Quintana. He last participated in Tour de France, but his results were annulled following the tramadol case. Later International Cycling Union gave the green light for future participation citing it was not a doping case, but his results remained the same.

As for the Colombian team, Quintana believes they'll deliver excellent performance in Australia. Although nothing can be said regarding his preparation for the World Championships. "Your messages of support are of great importance to us. We will give everything for Colombia. Surely it will be a good performance," concluded Quintana.
