Movistar wants young spaniard Ivan Romeo to challenge Juan Ayuso and Carlos Rodríguez

According to reports from Marca, The Movistar team is in talks with a young rider Iván Romeo. Eusebio Unzue wants to undo his mistake of missing out of young talents like Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates) and Carlos Rodríguez (INEOS Grenadiers).

Although it’s not officially confirmed Romeo who currently rides for Hagens Berman Axeon rider will join Movistar Team in 2023, making his biggest career jump to date. Movistar hopes to nurture his talent and challenge Juan Ayuso and Carlos Rodriguez in future events.

It is not certain but Movistar is waiting for Romeo to compete in World Championships to asses his skills and then will make their final decision. He is part of the national team representing Spain in the Road World Championships in Wollongong, where he will defend Spain's interests in the individual time trial and the U23 peloton.
