Orluis Aular was on the verge of a victory at the Vuelta a Espana 2023. The Venezuelan took second place in the seventh stage, losing only to surprising winner Geoffrey Soupe. This achievement was one of many that contributed significantly to the UCI points accumulated by his team in 2023, where Aular added almost a third of those points.
Last season, Aular not only won a stage, but also the overall classification of the CRO Race (2.1). This year, he has continued to demonstrate his talent and versatility by becoming Venezuelan time trial champion for the fourth time in his career. He also won the GP Internacional Torres Vedras - Trofeo Joaquim Agostinho, took second place in the fifth stage of Itzulia Basque Country and finished fourth in the fifth stage of the Volta a Catalunya.

CiclismoAlDia colleagues believe that Aular's potential move to Movistar Team presents a great opportunity for both the rider and the team. Movistar, known for being one of the most prestigious teams in professional cycling, could provide Aular with the ideal platform to further develop and compete at the highest level of the sport.
With this signing, Movistar is also looking to fill the void left by Alex Aranburu, whose departure to Arkéa - B&B Hotels appears imminent. Aular, with his sprinting ability and mid-mountain stage skills, is shaping up to be a suitable replacement and a valuable asset for the coming seasons.
