Mikel Landa links up with Remco Evenepoel in U.S. training camp

A few days ago we reported that Remco Evenepoel was in the United States training and now we can report that his right hand man and Soudal - Quick-Step teammate Mikel Landa is also in the US alongside his team leader.

The Basque climber has completed a solid first season as the double Olympic champion's super domestique, finishing fifth in the 2024 Tour de France and being key to Evenepoel finishing on the final podium. According to reports from Het Nieuwsblad, Patrick Lefevere's exciting duo will be training in the wind tunnel to improve their performance in time trials.

Although we have not seen any photos of Mikel in the United States, we have been able to confirm that he is there by a training session of Evenepoel published on Strava that Eurosport colleagues revealed and in which you could read "Con Free Landa". In total they rode 64.7 kilometres with 517 meters of elevation gain for a total of 2 hours of training.

A very important year lies ahead in which Evenepoel wants to continue closing the gap to Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard at the Tour de France after having already proven last year to have a great level. Perhaps even above what some of us could have imagined. Landa, for his part, will have his chances to lead the team in races at the start of the campaign before returning to become the Belgian's luxury teammate.
