Michael Matthews and Simon Yates headline as Team Jayco AlUla reveal Tour Down Under lineup

Team Jayco AlUlua have revealed their lineup for the Santos Tour Down Under, set to start on January 17th. The Australian team will be returning to its homeland with a strong team, including multiple Grand Tour stage winner Michael Matthews and former Vuelta a Espana winner Simon Yates.

Matthews will be attempting to add to his sole Tour Down Under stage win from back in 2011 and will be aided by New Zealander Campbell Stewart and fellow Aussies Luke Durbridge and Michael Hepburn.

Meanwhile, Simon Yates who will be aiming for general classification success will be assisted by lieutenants, Lucas Hamilton and former Jumbo-Visma rider Chris Harper who will be racing his first race in the colours of Team Jayco AlUla.

With such a strong team being selected, there are many possibilities for Jayco AlUla to have considerable success and with five of the seven riders being Australian, the Tour Down Under also marks something of a homecoming and as such gives them the boost of having the support of the thousands who will flock to the roadside to watch.
