Stage 1
Kelland O'Brien of Team Jayco AlUla abandoned the race within the first kilometers, following physical issues.
Toms Skujins crashed early in the day as well, whilst the final kilometer saw the fall of Lenny Martínez and Carlos Rodríguez in separate instances; which can ultimately affect the outcome of the overall classification.
Stage 2
No DNFs, but multiple crashes during the day ensured if wasn't a completely clean break for the peloton. Among those to go down were the likes of: Patrick Gamper, Jonas Geens, Lindsay De Vylder, Eddie Dunbar, Callum Scotson, Cees Bol, Phil Bauhaus, and Sandy Dujardin.
Stage 3
Nothing to note
Stage 4
Juan Ayuso crashed whilst on the lead of the race, however Lidl-Trek has confirmed there are no fractures for the Spaniard. In total, 14 other riders abandoned the race today, including at the very least Brandon McNulty, Pablo Castrillo and Raul García Pierna who crashed alongside Ayuso. Torstein Traeen and Luka Mezgec were also in the front group and did not finish the stage. Iván Romeo also crashed in that instance, but did not abandon.
Daan Hoole, Lindsay de Vylder, Bert van Lerberghe, Davide Piganzoli, Mathijs Paasschen, Robert Stannard, Piet Allegaert, Eddie Dunbar and Roel van Sintmaartensdijk also withdrew from the race. Oscar Onley, Joshua Tarling and Clément Russo were also affected by falls today.
Stage 5
Pascal Ackermann, Toms Skujins and Casper van Uden were all DNS at the start of the day. The peloton was then thinned even further during the stage as five riders abandoned, with David Gaudu, Milan Fretin, Luke Durbridge, Pavel Sivakov and Stian Friedheim all stepping off.
Stage 6
The race continued to see many departures. Julien Bernard, Rick Pluimers, Iván Romeo and Oscar Onley all did not show up at the start of the stage whilst Fabio Christen, Simon Dehairs and Niklas Märkl did not finish it.
Stage 7
The extreme cold and snowfall led several riders to abandon the race - likely also because originally, there wouldn't be a sprint on this stage, but instead two mountainous days remaining. Hence several sprinters and fast men left the race, perhaps planned from the start: Anthony Turgis, Max Kanter, Aimé de Gendt, Frederik Frison, Pascal Eenkhoorn, Timo Roosen, Tim van Dijke, Sven Erik Bystrom, Milan Menten, Nikias Arndt, Marijn van den Berg and Petr Kelemen.
In the finale there were two crashes involving several riders, of which Vito Braet and Harold Tejada looked to be the worst affected. Lennard Kämna, Arthur Kluckers and Nico Denz were also involved in a fal during the neutral start.
