The Vuelta a Andalucia was chopped up completely throughout the past few days and ultimately, only a small time-trial remained. Maxim van Gils took the victory in the five-kilometer effort, effectively winning the race.
The Belgian rider was the fastest in the slight uphill time-trial in Alcaudete - which was raced without time-trial bikes. An unusual effort on the only day that the race could save. The time-trial was not even initially in the race course.
Van Gils was the fastest, whilst António Tiberi and Juan Ayuso wrapped up the podium, losing 10 seconds on the day. The race then ends with this being the final overall classification.
