Mark Cavendish leads Astana looking for his first Scheldeprijs win in 12 years

Astana Qazaqstan Team have revealed their lineup for Scheldeprijs 2023 and perhaps unsurprisingly it is three-time former race winner Mark Cavendish that will hold the key to any potential success for the team.
As mentioned Cavendish has won the unofficial sprinting world championship three times in the past, although his most recent success came all the way back in 2011 when he was riding for HTC - High Road. In recent years, the Manx Missile does have a third placed finish from 2021 to his name and he'll be looking for at least another podium this time around.
Alongside Cavendish will be former Nokere Koerse winner, Cees Bol, a trio of Kazakh's in Igor Chzhan, Yevgeniy Fedorov and the experienced Dmitriy Gruzdev, 29-year-old Martin Laas and former Tour de Langkawi stage winner Gleb Syritsa.
