After missing out on the last edition of Paris-Roubaix due to Covid-19,
Marianne Vos is expected to bring a heightened level of enthusiasm to this year's race as she joins her teammates in competition.
"It was not nice to have to miss the race," Vos said on her team’s website. She continues, “I was really looking forward to it, but that is also the case now. Perhaps the enthusiasm to start is even greater because I had to miss out last year.”

Although she earned a silver medal in the 2021 edition of the race, it is difficult to predict how she will fare in this year's third edition, given her limited experience with the course. “It is a race that stands out on the calendar. When Paris-Roubaix introduced women's cycling in 2021, we didn't really know what to expect. The first edition was very slippery, and I immediately came second. My first acquaintance with that race was immediately good, and I will take that motivation with me to Saturday.”
Nonetheless, the element of mystery can also provide excitement, and she is prepared to face any difficulties, whether it is a challenging course or formidable opponents from other teams, without any intention of giving up. "There is no other classic like Paris-Roubaix, the race is unique. We will absolutely try to ride a good race, although you always need a dose of luck in Paris-Roubaix. We have to do our best to always race at the front and to be in a good position. I hope that I can then play a role in the final,” concluded Vos.
