Welcome to the Liveblog for the third stage of Volta a Comunitat Valenciana and Etoile de Bessèges Classic, and for the Classic held in Oman, the Muscat Classic.
In Spain, after strong winds canceled the ITT, we have a day when a Red Bull in excellent shape will measure its strength against Emirates, without neglecting other riders. On French roads, we can expect a very tough day on the bike. Rain, wind, a difficult and unpredictable route. In Oman, the Muscat Classic 2026 will pit Astana, Jayco, and Movistar against each other, all of whom have real aspirations to win on the day. We will also be keeping an eye on everything that happens in the UAE Tour women.
So there are four reasons to join us and follow all the action from the races live and up to the minute.

- If you don’t win the easiest then obviously there is something you’ve still got to improve. Breaking a record and still not winning, sounds like bad tactics. I would have said the same of MVDP doing 170km out in front with one teammate before trying solo to record the 2nd fastest TdF stage ever but then we found out it was mission accomplished.Mistermaumau06-02-2026
- Shame, hate to make the link but no amateur probably would have meant no crash which would have meant less susceptible to illness which would have resulted in more interesting races and discussions for us. So now we all pay the price of unnecessary events.Mistermaumau06-02-2026
- Voigt has said a lot of BS about Pogi and 3/4 of everything he said was plain garbage. A record was broken last year on the Cipressa. Who broke it? The KING of cycling broke it - POGI !!! Yes, MS will bi the hardest race to win for Pogi because it's the easiest...funny uhh...but Pogi can still do it if the tactic falls into place. No mistakes can be made. Ad acta.Mou-Cro-HR06-02-2026

- If the peleton organises, not even TP or MVDP can solo. The trouble is it’s not in the peletons’ interest, it is only in the interests of a few riders who don’t have the arguments for motivating a whole peloton and their own team just won’t cut it once the gap is too large. The subconscious every rider is dealing with is what difference does it make if tge winner is going to be the guy on his solo or someone taking advantage of my efforts and so they all wait for someone else to take the initiative.Mistermaumau06-02-2026
- Why do you leave Remco out of it, even if you don’t like him, he’d still add to the spectacle even if just with entertainment. Am sure many remember the worlds just as much for his swipe at the road as his catching of Tadej.Mistermaumau06-02-2026
- Most of this is ok but not always. After all, after 5x there must be a reason he always gets beaten by more than one guy at MSR. Obviously this leads to hope and discussion on how to improve the odds.Mistermaumau06-02-2026

- I don’t see the urgency to change anything, TT is just another part of cycling, each rider is better at something and should get their chance/day. I don’t know if you race but I can tell you in my (poorish) part of the developed world, anytime there is TT, over 80% of amateurs have TT bikes. Many half serious amateurs have a whole garage full of bikes (often just because the resale value of past bikes is so low it hurts them too much to sell them). Most amateurs, beginners or parents of kids have no problem spending way too much on bikes way above their level so a TT bike is just another option of people’s freedom in evaluating financial priorities. As for team budgets, it doesn’t matter what it’s spent on, any difference in budget is going to procure an advantage. Already the richer teams are the only ones able to afford the best riders, I think that gives them a far greater advantage than a slightly better TT bike. IOW, replacing one rider by a cheaper one would allow a team to buy better TT bikes all round.Mistermaumau06-02-2026
- The only interesting thing about it is he named all the possibilities without saying there was one better than another. Riders already have the tools for action, if they form a consensus there is no problem to impose their decision. Obviously though, it is MUCH harder to form a consensus for an ITT. On the whole, I don’t think it was handled that badly. Kangeroos in peletons are a bigger issue than TTing in wind.Mistermaumau06-02-2026
