The 2026 season is already underway, and today we have our first Liveblog of the year with an exciting doubleheader. On the one hand, the AlUla Tour features an essebtially pan-flat profile that makes Jonathan Milan the obvious favourite. Howeer, there is risk of echelons, which threaten to blow the race apart as happened yesterday. On the other hand, Spanish one-day races resume today after last week's opener. A roller-coaster race with plenty of hills, none of them excessively hard, meaning it is the perfect terrain for puncheurs to shine. No Remco Evenepoel today (he is debuting tomorrow at the team time trial), but an interesting startlist nonetheless with Morgado, Scaroni and Hirschi as the main names. - Having trained on French roads for hours without pro riders in vicinity, yet seeing them near the end of rides in passing, it must be said this story is lacking context details. Public roads are for the public. If teams wish for private access, they should get permits for road closures. Otherwise, hire sweeper riders to shadow the pros and discuss rules of the road with non-team riders who are sharing the roads.itsent28-01-2026
