Lennert van Eetvelt stormed to a surprising win at the UAE Tour and has already proven himself at the UAE Tour. With the likes of Tadej Pogacar present at the Volta a Catalunya it was going to be an interesting test for the Lotto Dstny rider, but his absence has been confirmed.
He was set to race, but a knee injury prevents him from doing so. The Belgian will most likely race the Ardennes classics and the Tour de Romandie later this spring, Catalunya was originally a building block ahead of these goals.

Johannes Adamietz, Thomas de Gendt, Jarrad Drizners, Jonas Gregaard, Andreas Kron, Eduardo Sepulveda and Maxim van Gils.
