Lennard Kämna set to strengthen Lidl-Trek in the mountains from 2025 onwards

Lennard Kämna won't spend much time racing in the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe jersey after the German team's re-branding. Kämna is currently still recovering from his training accident but apparently there is still severe interest for German's services on the market.

Winner of stages at all three Grand Tours, Kämna prefers to take on the free role in most of his races. However his potential new employer may have other plans for the German, transfers expert Daniel Benson reports.

Lidl-Trek has been adding firepower to their roster on all fronts - which already bore fruits at the classics, where Lidl-Trek was among the strongest teams, and in sprints with three stage victories at Giro d'Italia. However if there is one are where the American team still lacks, it must be in the mountains. And that's where Kämna seems to complete the puzzle. Rider capable of fighting stage as well as finishing top 10 overall in a Grand Tour could become essential for team's ambitions with Tao Geoghegan Hart.

The 27-year-old was last seen in competition at Tirreno-Adriatico in March after which he was set to race the Giro d'Italia. In Italy, he was set to share leadership with Daniel Martínez, who went on to finish second in the general classification.
