Lennard Kämna has had one of the most interesting careers in recent years when it comes to pro cycling. Despite being a very talented climber, he's dedicated himself to be a stage hunting specialist. Succeeding, he also gave a shot to Grand Tours this year and he has decisions to make in the future.

"I will approach things a little differently after my break in 2021 and be more consistent. It was a very good season, which I can be happy with," Kämna told In de Leiderstrui. "I would like to stay active and attack, but I would also like to compete in classifications. I don't know yet how and where, but I definitely want to remain the rider I am now and win stages. There's no question about that."

The German had his stints chasing breakaways, and succeeded at winning at both Tour of the Alps and Vuelta a Espana, whilst he rode a consistent Giro d'Italia where he rode to ninth place. With BORA - hansgrohe signing Primoz Roglic, Kämna may have a bit more of a role as a domestique now, however with good purpose as the team's capacity to fight for wins in the stage-races significantly improved.

"It's not easy to explain. It's still cycling and although I have a good feeling for the situation, everything depends on the race situation. I rarely start with a game plan, I usually see what happens. There is no secret to my victories, no, unfortunately not," he concludes.
