In a matter of minutes
Lidl-Trek has won two races. Whilst Mattias Skjelmose was victorious at the Tour de Luxembourg, over in Belgium
Jonathan Milan continued his very successful season with another triumph, this time around at the
Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen.
The breakaway of the day was formed by Martijn Tusveld, Jensen Plowright, Oliver Stockwell, Jelle Vermoote, Gavin Hlady and Born de Dobbelaere. The last remainders of the group were reeled in with 9 kilometers to go, with the very high speed and a few crashes marking the pursuit.
The final kilometers were incredibly chaotic with everyone fresh and about a dozen leaders trying to make it to the front of the group. Eventually there was no true leadout to the final sprint but it was
Dylan Groenewegen and Jonathan Milan that headed the sprint side-by-side, with the Italian coming out on top in the very sketchy sprint. Groenewegen was second whilst Tim Merlier rode to third on the day.
