Jumbo-Visma's Michel Hessmann suspended due to positive anti-doping test

Jumbo-Visma have issued a statement in which they acknowledge a positive anti-doping test for Michel Hessmann. The German rider, who supported Primoz Roglic in the conquest of this year's Giro d'Italia, has been provisionally suspended.

According to the team the 22-year old was detected to have a diuretic medicine in an out-of-competition test on the 14th of June, just a few weeks after the Giro. He's been suspended by the team in the meantime as they look to evaluate more details on the case. Hessmann has finished second in last year's Tour de l'Avenir and is seen as one of the Dutch team's many young gems in development.
