Juliette Labous: “I’m very proud of my fourth place, It was amazing to race this Tour de France Femmes. I enjoyed every second of it"

Tour de France Femmes concluded this Sunday with Annemiek Van Vleuten’s victory. Team DSM rider Juliette Labous finished 5th in the tour's last stage.

Labous started the stage relatively slow but picked up the pace when the peloton began to drop ridders and increase the speed. “In the ballon d Alsace it was not super hard, so it was not ideal for me, but we depended on the others at that point. The final climb was hard, but Liane paced me up for a long time to try to drop the others, which was really good,” said Labous.

She continues, “I’m very proud of my fourth place and of the work we did this week. It shows that our hard work is paying off, and I’m very happy. It was amazing to race this Tour de France Femmes. I enjoyed every second of it. It was so great to be part of Lorena’s stage wins, and I enjoyed all the support from people along the road and on social media. It was a goal to finish top five this year, and we worked for it the whole season as a team so we can all be really proud of it,” concluded Labous.

She was the only rider of Team DSM left in the top 10 in GC, Wiebes left the tour in the seventh stage, which put pressure on her to perform. Despite giving her best, she was only able to secure the fourth position in GC in the end.
