All eyes were at the front trio at Milano-Sanremo, but those who followed closely the action may have spotted one of the priciest road specials in the whole peloton. And we're not talking about neither of the rich WorldTour super teams.

Hiding in the bunch was a special bike from BMC, which according Cyclingnews observation has only been given to Tudor Pro Cycling leaders Julian Alaphillipe and Marc Hirschi. The brand's very expensive, top-tier, special-order road bike.

Hirschi had used the so-called 'Masterpiece', easily distinguishable from other team bikes due to its unpainted black handlebar at other Italian races in the run-up to Sanremo, whilst Alaphillipe put it through the trial of his devilish descending abilities at La Primavera.

The BMC Masterpiece isn't a brand-new bike, after all it can be bought from the BMC online store. If you don't have deep into the pocket. The frame alone comes at $8,999. Of course you cannot ride a frame alone. Obviously we're way past the point to skimp on a penny and so we'll equip our new bicycle with only top-end components. At the end of the day, the whole setup comes at about $18,000.

That's how much it costs to ride like Julian Alaphilippe. Now all you need are his legs...
