Jonas Vingegaard has managed to win his second consecutive
Tour de France after an impressive display over three weeks. For the second year in a row, he managed to beat
Tadej Pogacar in an epic battle. After his victory, he had this to say to the media about how he felt about winning again:
"It's a feeling of pride and happiness, to win for the second time is amazing, today with all the spectators, Danes, thanks to my team and all of Denmark for their support, I'm very grateful." He commented that the road was not too long and that he enjoyed it: "It was a long road that went very fast, one day after the other, it was a very hard race with a great fight between me and Tadej, he enjoyed it."
The
Jumbo-Visma Dane makes it clear that he will be back in 2024 to try for a third consecutive victory: "I hope to come back next year to see if I can get my third win, at least try;
Finally, he was asked about what he hopes his daughter will think of him in the future and there he left cycling aside: "That I'm a good father and that she has me when she needs me."
