Jaume Guardeño remains in intensive care following his training crash in Spain, with his condition still described as critical but stable as his recovery continues.
The Caja Rural rider has been in the ICU at Hospital Taulí in Sabadell since 31 March, the date of the incident, and remains under constant supervision as medical staff continue to monitor his progress in the weeks since the crash.
According to the latest update released by his team, Guardeño’s situation remains serious, although stable within that context. Further procedures are planned in the coming days as part of efforts to support his recovery.
Ongoing monitoring as recovery continues
Guardeño is continuing to receive round-the-clock care, with doctors assessing how he responds during this early phase following the accident. The planned interventions in the coming days form part of that ongoing process as his recovery is carefully managed.
Caja Rural have also moved to publicly support their rider and his family during what they describe as a particularly difficult period, reiterating their backing as Guardeño remains in hospital.
In a statement, the team said:
“Jaume continues to fight in the ICU at the Hospital Taulí in Sabadell since 31 March, when he suffered an accident while training. His condition remains critical, although stable within the seriousness of his injuries. He is under constant monitored supervision and is expected to undergo further procedures in the coming days to support his recovery."
"From Caja Rural–Seguros RGA we continue to send all our strength and support to Jaume, as well as to his family and those close to him at this time. Stay strong Jaume! #fuerzajaumeguardeño.”
