Iván García Cortina had not raced a road race since April 9 at Paris-Roubaix. The Spaniard is back in the Movistar Team jersey at the Tour de Suisse and will be looking for his first win of the year in the second stage, which is expected to be a sprint finish.
Cortina is aware that it won't be easy for him to beat the great sprinters who have taken part in the Swiss race, but he believes that the finish is tough and that he could adapt well to his characteristics.
"Very good, looking forward to returning to competition after a long period without racing," the Spaniard told CyclingPro.net at the start of the stage this morning. "I think it's a stage that can adapt well to me, it has a final climb that can adapt, let's hope to be there and give my best in the sprint. There are very good sprinters here who pass the mountain well so it will be an interesting stage."
