Spain have revealed who will be racing in their colours this coming week at the European championships, and lacking the leaders it would have in a mountainous or hilly race, it has brought a very modest lineup set to fight in what should be a bunch sprint in Munich.

Although it does feature small ascents, the Europeans Road Race is expected to be one easily controlled by the team's looking for a sprint, with the likes of Fabio Jakobsen, Tim Merlier, Arnaud Démare and countless other sprinters present. Spain is not a country which specializes in this field, hence having to carry a selection with more modest ambitions.

Jon Aberasturi of Trek - Segafredo and Iván García Cortina of Movistar Team will be their main options, with the team likely to follow a more aggressive approach. Oier Lazkano will be the rider's sole representative in the time-trial, after competing in support of his leaders in the road race in Munich.

As for the Women's field Sandra Alsonso and Ziortza Isasi will represent the country in the time-trial aswell as the road race, with Sheyla Gutiérrez being the main name the team will hope to work for in the road race.

Spain National team for men's Road Race: Jon Aberasturi, Iván García Cortina, Oier Lazkano, Xabier Mikel Azparren, Jonathan Lastra, David González, Jorge Arcas and Manuel Peñalver.
