In the second public outing of Team Visma | Lease a Bike's striking new time-trial helmets, the team finished sixth in the TTT on stage 3 of Paris-Nice, 38 seconds down on UAE Team Emirates.
One of those in the yellow-and-black on the day was American GC hopeful, Matteo Jorgenson. "The rain sucked in the final," he reflected post-stage. "We probably lost five or six seconds per corner with the rain but yeah, we just tried to give it our best."
"We really slowed down on the final climb because a few guys were struggling and in hindsight maybe we should have kept going but that's something to discuss for after," says Jorgenson with the team as mentioned, finishing 38 seconds down on UAE Team Emirates.
When questioned about the new helmet that quickly went viral when first seen at Tirreno-Adriatico yesterday, Jorgenson had a hilarious response. "Yeah, it's some alien technology!" he laughed. "I don't know what else to say."
"I've got good legs for sure. I felt good opening weekend, I felt good the few days here and the training this year has really worked," he concludes. "I'm optimistic and I think a top-5 or top-3 in GC is possible."
