"It's fantastic to start the season with such form and already two wins": Arnaud De Lie looks forward to raising his win record

Arnaud de Lie did it again! The Belgian talent from Lotto-Dstny won the opening stage of Étoile de Bessèges and proved again why he is one of the most rising promises in the field of the sprint. This time De Lie beat Mads Pedersen, a former World Champion who won last year edition points jersey of Vuelta a España. In a finish that suited very well Pedersen, since he even won last year on the same end.

"It felt super to win in such a way. We had scouted this finish last Monday and I noticed that at 500 meters from the finish it became slightly flatter. Just there Mads Pedersen placed his acceleration. I bit into his wheel and still felt strong enough to remount him and bang towards the finish", told De Lie in the post race interview.

Arnaud de Lie raises to two wins since he already won Classica Comunitat Valenciana early the season. The Belgian keeps humble, and thanks his teammates for the work they have done along the stage for him to get the win.

"It's fantastic to start the season with such form and already two wins. But none of this would be possible without a strong Lotto-Dstny who are fully behind me. Big kudos to my teammates, because we rode by the book today.", he concluded.
